This week marked a huge milestone in Tez's development!
Not unlike Tez the game's main protagonist, the game itself has been kept fairly under wraps with only a handful of people testing or playing it through the past 5 months of development. Considering a majority of those testers were family members or close friends their opinion of the game could be construed as somewhat biased.
With our promised demo day scheduled for the 30th of May (the monthly Games Dev South Wales meet up we regularly attend), nerves were getting to us as to how people would react to this slice of our world we had prepared for our fellow developers to play.
Our demo went went amazingly! Tez was a hit. Met with praise from all directions, this was truly motivating after being in crunch for the past month and beginning to demotivate. We had a constant flow of players coming to try the demo throughout the night, with each one finishing our confidence heightened.
Following the demo we were invited to showcase at the next Arcade Vaults at Tiny Rebel (Cardiff). There are of course a few bugs to iron out which our fabulous testers identified but nothing too substantial.
With most of the mechanics in place, now begins the busy work of building the rest of our world and finalising the story Tez and our players will follow.
